- Choose the output type: MP4, WebM or MOV.

- Look at the preview. Then press Download.
The three output types
MP4 has H.264 video and AAC sound. It plays on almost every phone, computer and website.
WebM has VP8 video and Opus sound. Browsers play it well, and it suits the web.
MOV has H.264 video and AAC sound in the Apple container. Many editing programs use it.
Keep quality, change only the container
This option copies the video and the sound into the new file. The page does not encode them again.
It is quick, and the picture does not change. It works only when the codecs fit the new file type.
MP4 and MOV hold H.264 or HEVC video with AAC sound. WebM holds VP8, VP9 or AV1 video with Opus or Vorbis sound.
Limits
A phone can use a file up to 250 MB. Other devices can use a file up to 1 GB.
The page downloads the video engine the first time you pick a video. It is 32 MB, and your browser keeps it for next time.
Encoding a long video takes time, because the engine runs on one thread. Copying is much quicker.
Other free tools for files
Make a photo smaller with the Image tools. Merge, split or compress a PDF file with the PDF tools. Both tools are free and run in your browser.
Questions
Which types can I make?
You can make MP4, WebM and MOV files. MP4 plays almost everywhere. WebM suits web pages. MOV suits Apple apps and many editors.
What does Keep quality, change only the container do?
It copies the video and the sound into the new file with no encoding. It is quick and loses nothing. The box is off when the codecs do not fit.
Why is the copy option off for my video?
The new file type cannot hold the codecs of your video. For example, a VP9 video does not fit in MP4. The page then encodes the video again.
Does the page lower the quality?
Copying keeps it as it is. Encoding again can lose a small amount of detail. All three types use a high quality setting.
Does the page upload my video?
No. The page converts the video in your browser. The file never leaves your device. Read the privacy page.
